When I found this leaf skeleton I was entranced and the photograph that provided the design was perfect. It became the first papercut picture we created, and it will always be a favourite of ours.
The simplicity of the design is the key to it's beauty . One of the reasons we always work from photographs is that we can never create something more beautiful than nature itself.
Cut into recycled black card, the design shows the intricate veins of the leaf perfectly, and the whole design produces the most amazing shadow effect when placed in a well lit space.

The black box frame is as eco-friendly as we could find, being made from recycled polystyrene. It also benefits from a glass front.
